My Boat......
 

Sad to say, after a very long career racing- 20+ years- and boating just as long, I find that taking out my 33 Fountain on the weekends just isn't doing it for me anymore. My life is changing and I have found other interests that I am pursuing. Which leads me to my boat. Why can't I sell it? It's a pristine 160 original hour '89 that I bought new. It seems everyone brings up the fact it has TRS drives-hardly used TRS drives at that, and can't get parts for them-not true. All the aftermarket companies are making them and there is plenty of NOS around. Anybody who know's drives, knows that these were great and stronger than bravos and had high horsepower attached to them very often. Secondly, the other reason seems to be no trailer. I live on the water and she stays on a lift. I will bring it to you if I have to. It's killing me to see it just sit in my yard all covered up. Just make me a REASONABLE offer for a one of a kind boat, the last flat transom made. Many OSO members know me and this boat quite well and will vouch for me. Someone, please, take it home. Season is coming......

I feel your pain, my TRS brother! My boat has been advertised on OSO since October. I have had almost 3000 hits in the 3 month period. The boat is solid and very sea-worthy. People are tire-kickin', but no one serious has thrown out a REASONABLE offer.

You are not alone. Good luck. Someone should take her home soon as Spring is coming quick.

Trying to put it in the classifieds right now. NADA has it at $40K for a boat that needs a little work. This doesn't and has ridiculous hours. Just make me an offer. I want to sell it.

We had a 10 Meter Fountain before we owned POOL WHORE's Top Gun. It had fresh 454's, TRS Drives, new gauges/interior, trailer & it didn't need anything. After sitting on the boat for a few years we lowered the price to $36,500 FIRM and it sold. Hope this helps.

I have my cruiser up for sale so I can buy into speed again but it's not selling. tons of tire kickers but thats it :rolleyes:

Sounds like you have alot of traffic on your cruiser. With all the activity is the price/condition right?

I thought boats that don't sell have no one even inquiring on them.

Good luck selling her. Looks like a very nice 33'. If someone wants to put big power in her they can always convert to Konrad's. Board members Biggus, Mr. Cig & Brian, with the Fountain of Youth Fountain, can vouch for the Konrad's strength.

That's a good thing. :D This year we need to get you out on the run with us. I didn't realize you were not on a boat last year. You are always welcome to ride with us if you don't mind going slow. :D

Rich, after seeing your 42 "Rio Roses" and being on it in Chicago, there's no dought in my mind that your 89 33 footer is in as mint condition as the 42.
Sad to say, these boats are'nt that desireable anymore. After all the time and money I put into mine, before I'd sell it to some idiot for next to nothing, I'd rather strip the power and drives, take a saw and cut it down the middle and mount both halves to the outside of the shop walls.

Back in the 80's, a good friend of mine built some really big horsepower engines for all the dragcar guys in Chi-Town. He was getting out of the business, and moving to europe, and we all knew he could'nt take all the equiptment with him when he moved.
He gave a date that he wanted to sell all the engines, cylinder heads, intakes, cams, etc. Alot of the local guys figured that the day after he threw everything in the dumpster, they were gonna just take what he did'nt sell.
Well, the last day before he moved he gave a bunch of us a chance to buy the equiptment cheap, real cheap. Very few guy bought anything. He gave us a last chance to buy the stuff, and then he fired up the torch and started cutting EVERYTHING up in half before he threw it in the dumpster.
He even cut complete engines in half !!! When it was all said and done, I asked him why in the hell did he do that? He replied, that he'd rather nobody use it rather than see anybody benefit from his loss.
Give it till summer, do you want to borrow my chain saw? :D
