Default 96 and 97 35' Lightning: What's it worth?

I'm in the market for a 35 Lightning priced under 75k. I've found 2 boats that I am considering. Can someone please tell me what fair market value is for these? Any guesses on top speeds for those respective power combo's? Which engines are more desireable the HP500 or the 525SC?

Boat 1: 1996 35 Lightning, all stock with twin Blue Merc HP500's carburated. Bravos, Latham, 400hrs., service history unknown, hull and interior are pretty clean. No trailer.

Boat 2: 1997 35 Lightning, all stock with twin Blue Merc HP525SC's. Bravos, Latham, 250hrs., service history unknown, hull and interior are pretty clean. No trailer.

Is there a difference between the 96 and 97 model years?

Thanks!

I have a 1997 with 525sc's and love it. It could use more power but, We run it hard and it takes it. 413 hours.

When did they make the switch to a different single step? It seems some of the older 35s have a smaller single step than mine has.
