Re: Gasoline stains - need advice
I've used Barkeeper's friend on gas stains for the gelcoat, it worked for me.

Re: Gasoline stains - need advice
Used the acetone on the rubrails and it worked perfectly! looks like new...it did not work on the gelcoat tho. I tried some compound I had in the garage and it did nothing. I will try the 3M by hand and then use the wheel if necessary. 88 F, I did try the barkeepers friend with no luck. Thanks again to all!

Unfortunately, you are going to have to buff the compound. If you're unsure about doing it yourself, find a detailer (auto or boat) to do it for you. Might cost you $20.00 or a couple of beers for a friend!
Be sure to use a conditioner on your rubrail any time you use acetone on it. Good luck. |

New insert, now I only use bleach white on it when it really needs a good cleaqning. So far still good. |

Re: Gasoline stains - need advice
The rubrail on mine is stained exactly like you describe. A light buff took it off the fiberglass but I had to lightly wet-sand the rub rail then polish it back out. Took a lot of work and finess. Now its stained again and Im going to leave it for a while.
