35 lightening props
I have a 1995 lightening with stock 502's (415hp) am omly getting 4200 RPM WOT. I am running Bravo 28 P props. Should I go up or down in pitch to get better top end and up to the 5200 RPM that I should be getting. (Motors are new in 2003).

You would need to go down in pitch. General rule of thumb is that 2" in pitch will change RPM by 200, 24's should be close. Just remember every prop is slightly different, testing is the only way to be sure. You could contact Fountain as well for info on where you could start.

Or you could buy these and keep your props!

Re: 35 lightening props
Tanner - you are definately overpropped. 28 bravos on a 1.50 would be fine for the HP500s but the 415s just cant turn that much rake. Ragged edge is right - the 24s should get you close - if you still need more RPM after that then get the 24s lab finished - Mercury can usually pull another 250 RPM out their props.

Have 26 Hydros for my 99 with 500's that run at 5400 , also a pair of Lab 28 Bravos that run about the same. Like the Hydros better for higher speed handling, Bravos work well as all around props and cruise better.
BZ congrats on the fine shot in Powerboat. How do you like the 42 vs the 35? Pros & Cons?
