Default Insurance for 42' 2005 Executioner

Thinking about putting together a 2005 42' Executioner, with 600 HP, Bravo drives, on a trailer. I boat on the Great Lakes have a good driving record, and older than I would like to ADMIT!! Boat with trailer should be valued at $200.000.00

What should I expect? Paying $1000.00 per year on a 2001 358 Sonic now.

Downtown, is your policy an agreed value policy? What is your lay up period?

My 38 is a 99. I pay 948/year. Insured for 125k I am 30 years old with a clean driving record. Having a clean record helps a bunch. Oh. I am with progressive.

You best know what your policy is. If you do not have an agreed value policy (which Allsate, Sate Farm and insurance company's like this DO NOT write) and your boat is a loss then your insurance company will give you "market value". So say your boat cost you $250K and you financed $200K and your boat is stolen or damaged in a tornado ect and is a loss then you insurance company will only give you a percentage of it's real worth...probably only around $120-150k.
With boats like what we are all mostly buying an Agreed Value policy is the only safe way to go.

My guess would be $1500 if you have other items insured with them also.

man you are really getting raped. I called progressive and they wanted $1400 with an absurd deduct. I called my allstate agent and picked up the top of the line policy with a $500 deduct for $870. Boat is insured for $125,000 - 04 35x

Mike you are correct, you will get market value with an ACV- now as long as the Book value..... Nada, ABOS, Kelly Blue Book average to where you need to be in a total loss - as long as you have given them enough of a value to insure you will be ok in a total loss. The agreed value policy is based on a dollar amount and book value is used to get a baseline on the value of the boat - you cant insure a 5k boat for 100k - they usually alow you to go about 10% higher than the average NADA retail. If you have a total loss the agreed value policy will pay you based on what you agreed on and the cost of the policy is based on that dollar amout.

Thanks for the replies, I'm getting some very positive figures, and it looks like the insurance won't be an ISSUE. I will be giving Bob at World Wide a call on Monday and see what he can come up with.
