Re: New to me Fountain Owner
my boat was an 89 but the hull id # said 88 at the end.I had 2 certificates of origin for my boat.they wanted me to bring it to a dealer so they could grind the last number out and replace it with an 9.told them there insane, nobodys touching the hull id#.i was told the boat was an early 89 and they messed up the id #..i bought my boat in aug of 88.never looked at the number because it was brand new.they told me that a few other boats had the same problem and when i asked where they were they told me they were lost in a fire at a dealer.i had a hard time selling my boat because of this.other then that i loved that boat.

Re: New to me Fountain Owner
I was told 3 by the previous owner of my boat. I have #002. I have a copy of an old Powerboat mag with a Fountain ad with what looks like a picture of your boat. When I get home from work today, I'll dig it out and let you know which issue it is.

Found the Powerboat mag with the ad. It's the Oct. 1988 issue, on pages 4 and 5. If your interested, you can PM me your email address and I'll send you a picture of it. I can't post pics on here, it always tells me they are too big and I am not sure how to make them smaller.

Re: New to me Fountain Owner
Another question for the pros. I work part time at a marina that has a hoist that runs off of an electronically controlled I beam. When we put boats in we hook two 8000 lbs straps from the rear power hoist and one on the front. The rear go to the two eyelets on the transom and the front one to the bow/trailer eye. My question is the two on the transom that we would normally use are blocked by the swim platform, therefor there are another two installed above the platform. Would these eyelets be strong enough or should I strap the boat like as we would sailboats? (single strap under the hull for the rear)
