Fountain Storage Cover

Does anyone have any experience with the factory storage cover? What's it made of? Fit? Can you use it for long term outside storage?

Thanks!
Techman

Durring summer months the factory mooring cover is great. I would shrink wrap the boat durring the winter.

I bought this one a couple yrs ago. It's a factory full down the side cover that has a a vinyl or pvc like outer layer. My boat is always covered with it either while in my slip during boating season and in the garage during the off season, so not in direct sunlight. Appears to be holding up really good in the 3 yrs I've owned it, plus the couple yrs from the original owner. His ad pic, so not sure if his boat was kept outside.

Good luck in trying to get one. I waited 12 weeks and the last lame excuse they gave me was that they didnt have a 35 there from which to pull a pattern. I gave up and finally had a custom made glove fit sunbrella cover made for it.

35Fountain, where did you get your custom cover from?

I followed JRyan's lead and bought a storage cover for a 36 Baja and it fit really well, like it was made for the Fountain 35. It doesn't look like the seller has any right now, but I would contact him and see if he has more comming. He usually has one or two for sale, and they usually sell for about $135 plus shipping of about $35. Here is the link.
Good luck
David

We bought one a while long time ago. Just checked their web and they still have them. A lot more expensive. Go to www. Fountaindirect.com, go to accessories and at the bottom, boat covers. If you can get one made local it may be cheaper. Theirs fit perfect, and had drawstrings to tie it down.

First Class Yacht Services - Lady who made it custom cut the thing on the boat. It is definatly a one off. The shops around here are all rackateers and have all decided to price fix on stuff like this. I paid what I had to but I did get a first class cover.

I kept the full cover (grey color) that I had for 1996 35' Lightning when I sold the boat. It's hardly used if you're interested. It's been sitting in my closet.

Fountaindirect.com Also Known As Grang Prix Marine Is Out Of Business. Talked To Thatguy About A Fountain He Had On Traderonline And Went To His Place In Cinci Ohio About 2 Years Ago And The Place Was Bare, Nothing But An Empty Building. I Called Him And Told Him I Was There And Where Was He !! Never Mentioned He Moved And He Hung Up On Me.. He Still Has Boat Ads On The Web Site.. Stay Away From That Guy.......

I had a custom sunbrella made I paid $1250.00 but it cover and wraps around under w/draw rope and zipper going to the side. If you are going to store outside I would really suggest a cover that wraps/cover the sides.

Here is a Baja 36 outlaw cover on e-bay right now, don't miss it, they fit like they were made for a 35 Fountain, I would bet that $150.00 plus shipping would buy it.
