whipple 525 EFI
has anyone wipplecharged 29lightning 525 efi.if so
how much hp. what was mph.I have also looked into R-tech they saying 800hp.both kits are around 12k-14k before your done.looking for 95mph the boat runs 75-78 depending on the conditions.thanks for any imput. |
would be sweet.....but I dont think I would attempt it w/o a conrad in place of my bravoXR

Better learn how to drive, because you will definately be outrunning the boats capabilities. Mine runs 92-93 and there had better be no chop. Quick steering is absolutely necessary, and always wear your life vest and hook up the kill switch. These boats chime walk at over 86-88 MPH. Roger

I'd be wearing a helmet myself as well! :D I've heard whippling that engine will really shorten its life and that 14k could turn into a whole lot more in the long run. If I had the money, I'd be tempted to try that Raylar HO 750/Konrad ACE package. It's an N/A engine and they say it has up to a 500+ hr service life if you're not WFO 24/7. 765hp is what they're claiming. Retail on the engine is 34k and the drive retails at 28k. Not cheap either way, but it might all equal out in the long run.

I am trying to figure it out.I am speed junky I have had
couple outboard modvp running 95-100 it was alot of fun the river blew up couple times 18ft boat got beat up.I have buddy with n-tch 39v procharged 118 120 after ridding in that it gave me the speed bug again but its going to cost me this time.I cant get cat ins. here florida so i bought my fountain didnot do research on supercharging 525efi twice as exspensive as a nother motor I that about selling motor my buddy has dart598 block i can build. How fast do you think 29 hull can handel. |
The hull will start chine walking at 80. I found that out the second time out with the boat, needless to say I backed off. (I was up there in Jax boating last March in 60 degree air and the boat ran like a raped ape)......I'm told if you drive through it by reacting with the steering, things should calm down around 84 or so if you have the power to get there. I've spoken with the guy who owns the 29' former speed record holder. His boat runs close to 90 and he says it's one scary ride!!!

I do not know much about singles but I just got back from running my 29 with twin 500 EFI's at 93 MPH and it ran fine. I run about 1/2 down on the tabs to maintain control and then raise them ONLY when it is calm enough to push it to its limit. My 502's are pushing 575 HP and 625 Touque. But as I have posted earlier I have faster steering to help solve the problem faster. Roger
