That sums it up for most all of us! It is hard to "rep" the brand in apparel like that. What would happen if "evryone" emailed Fountain with this problem?

ReggieRaft 03-03-2007 12:26 PM

They have to have somebody looking at this site now and then. Their line of clothes is crap.

Yamaha 225 03-03-2007 02:46 PM

I must say, the satin jacket is really not a jacket I wear on a fine restaurant. But when you get into the seat and run WOT in your Fountain, you represent 50 years of perfectionism on the water, and then I talk Reggie. He loves his black chequered jackets and that's the way it is. It's a little fun too. I never use my satin jacket other places than in my boat, but when I do, I feel like Reggie and that's cool. He and Darris Allison is the brain of Vee-bottoms. They rule the when it comes to speed. This pride is what it's allabout and the jacket is a symbol of it this pride.

At least this is how I regard this.

That does not mean they can't offer a trendy line of clothes as well. They can keep the other stuff around for 10X, his wife, Reggie, and you.:p :p

US1 Fountain 03-03-2007 07:05 PM

So what you gus are saying is that you want a clothing line that also sells boats?

fountainfevr 03-03-2007 08:12 PM

we are sayin that we want the worlds best boat to have a clothing line that is just as good. I think we are "beatin a dead horse" on this issue I doubt there will be any changes in the clothing line. :( :( :(

Easy there big fella!!! :D

99fever27 03-04-2007 10:14 PM

There isnt much to be desired in the clothing line. I own a few hats, a hoodie and a wind breaker and that is about it. I wish they would come up with some tastefull apparel. I must say my beer coozy(s) works great though..:drink:

Downtown42 03-05-2007 09:28 AM

Really doesn't bother me too much. Just more of my coin pissed away. I'm in jeans or swimtrunks and an old Miller Lite t-shirt 90% of the time. I got the Fountain towel, 2 jackets, few t-shirts, and a nice casual dress shirt with Logo and name embroidered in Gold and green.

I think when you're in S FL, they style more there :drink:

pullmytrigger 03-05-2007 11:07 AM

wish my Fountain was worthy of matching apparel.......:( :D

Then go and have it embroydered and see what they charge you for all those stich counts. My sister in law does embroydering, she told me that with all the stitch counts in those towels, they would have to charge at least $20 to do it.
So if you add the "cost" of the towel ($75), then take it to be embroydered, another $20 or so, how much do you have in it??? Plus your time and travel??? I'm sure Fountain don't pay that much, but remember they do these by the thousands, so I'm sure they get a quantity discount. No matter how you look at it, they're selling them to make money, if they did'nt, they would'nt sell them.

Did anyone ever price a Cigarette shirt??? You could buy 3 or 4 Fountain shirts for what you'll pay for a Cig shirt. Now that's a rip off IMO. Go price one of them and let's see how many of you guys complaining about the Fountain appareal would pay those ridiculous prices for the same kind of shirt if it had a Fountain logo on it. Don't cost any more money to put a Cig loco and word on it, than a Fountain logo and word. Remember, it's all in the stich count.

There is a reason why Cigs clothing is so expensive, Its in style, made from the finest materials, and they look good. Who wants to wear a $4.00 t-shirt,no matter what it says on it ??

Alright Otis I won't let you beat up on another fellow Founatin brother. Even if he enjoys the 70's show and all of Reggies dated gear:evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

Downtown42 03-07-2007 01:30 PM

I bought a sweat shirt at the local grocery store for 2. buks.

Has a local high school team on it. One of my favorite ones to wear. Fits perfect, lightweight and if I get grease on it, who cares! Dog bites me sometimes when I'm drunk so there are a few holes in the right sleeve.

You forgot to mention the biggest reason. Because there's always a certain group of people that will pay overpriced prices for anything. I'll bet ya if everyone refused to pay those ridiculous prices that Cig charges, and just walked past, you'd see them drop their pricing faster than $hit through a tin horn.
I don't know what you wear when it's hot outside, but you'll never catch me in anything other than a t-shirt. Make that a V-neck shirt. And since no one makes them with ant kind of monograming on them, I have them made up for myself.

sommerfliesby 03-09-2007 05:48 AM

Frankie, I think you should be wearing a black shirt with a Roman collar on the boat...that'd REALLY make you "The Preacher.":D
