Looking for a 29 fever

What do I need to look for and worry about in a 29 fountain fever. I'm looking at 2000 - 2002 years, they all seem to have the 500hp in them. Also, what is a reasonable price range for one with 200 or so hours on it?

centerfield, the guy thst bought my 2000 29 Fever has it for sale in Va. The boat is still in awesome condition and the engine (hp500) has been re-freshed. I put around 150hrs on the boat and never had 1 single problem with the boat itself. I replaced the water pump and fuel pump under normal maintancance and after break in of the engine it is Mobil 1 every 30hrs with new plugs every year.
As far as the boat it self 2000 and on 29 Fever are extremely solid boats. I had 1 stress crack show up at the naca duct airway to the bildge and that was fixed and never came back. Very solid well built boat.

Tad off topic but how did you fix it- some thing like MarineTex? Just curious..

I did not personally fix it but I watched the guy I hired do the fix. He ground out the crack which was about 1.5" and filled it with a Marine Tex type of paste that he pre color matched. It dried in about 30 min and then he buffed it out and you could never tell it was there.

My 32 has those same stress cracks near the top of the Nada vents. Thought about having it repaired but afraid the repair would be more obvious.

Nope my guy matched the gel color and you could never tell.

I had a 1998 26 Scarab that was full of stress cracks...what a crappy designed/built boat! Anyway there were probably around 15-20 stress crack repairs all over the boat. You could not tell were any of them were.

Down here in Florida there is a guy that does gelcoat and fiberglass repairs at every hi and dry marina. They are easy to find and everyone of them I has used has done a great job. Also in all the little local fishing newspapers there are at least 6 or so guys advertising these types of repairs. Doing the repair and making it smooth is pretty easy. Matching the gel color is a little harder.

I know where a 2002 29 Fountain is in Charlotte. It's got about 80 hours on it and has a 575sci. Guys asking 78k, they said he'd take 75k, My guess is you could get it for Upper 60's. It's got nice simple stealth graphics, dark grey/blue. Normal wear and tear (not much).
Only negative is it has the tall windshield. But that could be swapped for a low profile windshield or even a race fairing.

I almost bought it. But had some extra cash and decided to go new.

Thanks Mike for the pitch. I have a 2000 29 Fever for sale, it used to be FeveMike's. It is in great shape, the top end of the motor has been freshened up, new cam, etc. Brand new Bravo XR drive, etc. I think that it is priced to sell at $59995. It will run 75-76 gps with 2 people and light fuel.

Does the price seem fair? It is priced below any others that are similar. Just havent gotten much action.
