I am just pissed because my farther is a blow boater.....all we did was sail. Until I got a job and purchased my own power boat.
My 05 touched 87 then the GPS broke so I lost the re-call. Say I'm lying, whatever. Almost no fuel and Shogren, me and the wife. Here is the best I got with 1/2 fuel and a weekend load of chit. This year I will get the 87. Boat runs 84 solid with fuel. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...0365Medium.jpg |

Because you have to????
My son is almost 18 years old now. Has been driving high performance boats for a few years now and does a super job. He docks the boat, runs it over 92mph, and has driven in 6-8 seas here in New England. I don't post on OSO all that much. Now I know why. This is the Dad. back to the action :evilb: |

Beak42 is a rookie to the Fountain family....I will teach him the ways to smoke the Cig:cool:
Tom - I'd love some Driving Lessons! I love the way that my 42hull skips over the wavetops. It seemed the Cig plows through them. Just get a good detail job. My 42 hull shines and feels smooth and slick and it is VERY shiny! And my Dad was a fisherman - only Evinrude outboards, and hours and hours and hours of anchor, bait, wait, move, anchor, bait, wait, move, anchor, bait, wait...wait...wait... |

I have ran a 575 stag Gladiator in some pretty sloppy stuff 95mph. It is a good running hull but it has its place. To say that it lays down the water better than a 42 lightning- please. Don't even go there. A Gladiator is fast but it should be- there is no cabin, no freeboard, and no cockpit. It is a race boat. My 38 with 500hps runs 81-82 depending on load all the time. A new 525 38 lightning is a solid low 90s boat. My friends has a 42 that touched 87 a few times. These numbers are undisputed. If you want to go fast just buy a 90mph 35 lighning with some black 496hos. Pretty impressive I don't care who makes it. Oh by the way I am 31 years old and have been driving High performance boats since before you were born so my credibility is undisputed as well. I thought this thread was about one mans quest to trade up to a 32 Fountain. How did this thread become a cig vs Fount. Thread?

It's a waste of time arguing with Fountain people about Cigarette's and stuff. I dont think a Fountain is a better boat. There's no way. Yes the Fountain is Faster, costs less and such but big whoop. There's no way its a better boat. Sorry my opinion. And yes both resale on both boats stink. It does on all brands. Those Cigarette owners that think they have the best resale are mindless. Over and out.

Hands down go for the 35.
So what kind of money are they getting for new 35 lightnings with 496's? |

My apology to Fountain40icbm. Ride quality was not mentioned. Won't happen again hombre. Gladiators are very cool boats and if I didn't need a cabin( which I really don't I guess) a Glad would be on my list. It is one of the best looking offshore boats out there. Great lines. Sorry agin for the disruption
