My apology to Fountain40icbm. Ride quality was not mentioned. Won't happen again hombre. Gladiators are very cool boats and if I didn't need a cabin( which I really don't I guess) a Glad would be on my list. It is one of the best looking offshore boats out there. Great lines. Sorry agin for the disruption

fountain40icbm Don't take any statements about your age as being an issue. To be totally honest, age has no real bearing on how knowledgeable a person is or is not. Thank You itilldo. Let me know what your looking for and I'll help you find it!! |

This has been a very entertaining post however I have to go home now and get in my old slow Fountain and go for a nice afternoon boat ride!

Don't think we can help you on one in that price range. you might have to wait a few years on that on. I have an idea though- Shogren Performance has a 2002 35 lightning with 496hos that is pretty cheap. Boat will still probably run close to 80mph but will be super reliable and fuel efficient. Check it out- www.chicagofountain.com. Could probably be bought for under 100k. Its worth looking at. F40icbm- How would you rate your 38 sling to a 42 lightning? I have considered jumping ship to a Slingshot.

There are a few used cigs on the market that I would take over most new fountains as well. There are also a few used outerlimits that I would take over most new Cigs. I think you are beating a dead horse here. Here is what we have learned. 1. Fountains are faster than Cigs. 2. Fountains cost less than Cigs. 3. Cigs finish is better. 4. Re-sale sucks on both in todays market. |

Thankyou for your input. You can take your wealth of knowledge to the Cig forum or even General disscusion forum.

If you have a problem with getting REAL info from a kid then ask anyone at Ocean Performance, Lip-Ship performance, Xtreme Marine, or the Donzi factory. Do you want me to continue??
