I used to like (love) Cigs.......
thought they were the chit......
then I came to OSO........
now I honestly cant stand them......
walk right by them at the dock......truth!
I like Fountains far more now than I ever have......
IF......I was to get another boat......
It would be a 35 beek or 32 AT for a little more cabin space

I Gotta say, those old red 12 meters were the chit!
I remember running my little 21 Scarab down the
Hudson from Albany to NYC. I was heading
out of NY harbor and saw an all red 12 meter
blasting around. That was it for me...love at
first sight.

WHOA! WHOA! I agreed up until:
As I said above, I have a 33 Baja Outlaw, which I love, the BEST boat I have ever been in as far as wind control, I stand 6'1" and DO NOT have to bend over to talk to my wife at 70mph. Now the 42 Fountain is in a totally different class... smoother, faster, longer, holds more fuel, planes faster without ANY blowout, but I do have to duck my head a little, about 2" to talk to Claudia. The boat launches and lands level, because of the staggered 525's, and on the Fun Run we did yesterday at Galveston, we got to the first stop after running 70mph into the wind and 3-4 footers for about 15 mins and the other guys said "Boy it was rough out there at that speed" and we said "What? Was it rough?" Course it wasn't rough for the guys in the 42 Cigarette Tiger either...

If you are going to qoute me, at least qoute the full jest of it. Notice the 'change' comment.
I was merely considering on the actual physical appearance, not ride or handleing. A 42 is a streched 27.

Sorry about that. I am looking at changing for the same reasons. We need more cabin space snd there is not much diifference between a 27 an a 47 as far as cabin layout and headroom.

I think Cigs are nice too. But the 42 Tiger I mentioned above has 575's and barely gains on me and my 525's! It is a very nice boat though.

Thats because it only runs the same as your Fountain. Cigarette is not know for having fast hulls, unlike Fountain. The Cig should ride better though but very close. For the size of the Cig to be running almost the same power as your Fountain and running with you is pretty good to me.
