BTW: David Knight had a 35 with twin 1000's. When I had my 35 with 500's I considered repowering to make it a 100+ boat. I was told over and over by Fountain that anything over 100 mph was pushing the safety envelope in a 35 (yes I know of lot of people run over 100 in them.) But I can just imagine what their opinion would be of trying to run 120 mph in a twin-step 35 pushing 900 hp thru XR's - not to mention an insurance co's thoughts on the matter. Anyways I don't mean to be a kill-joy. I just thought someone needed to at least ask the question "should it be done" rather then just offering advice on the best way to go about it. Best of luck to you. |
Any more info on this?

Blade count is directly related to drive heigth. Or to say your drive heigth will determine what balde count you will need. The higher the drive heigth the great the blade count. But if you are concerned about torque you can dial your drive heith into the 4B props. The fastest props on Fountains are typically the semi-cleaver props. Shoot me an email with your data and I will take a look at it if you like. We are manufacturing 4B, 5B and 6B props which have PROVEN to be very fast on Fountains. Enjoy the new boat!!

38 non step w/twin JG 1000 motors
I don't know if it will crack 100 mph or not but I do know it will cause your neighbor across the creek to spend some money on a new staggered 38 w/700's.

I am trying to get him movin but he isnt budging. I dont think it will be back for ther poker run but Joeys workin hard.Im pullin my hair out . Hows it going Danny ..Are you coming down for the run in a couple weeks ?
|
I am doing just fine. Yes, my son and I are coming down for the Ocean Marine run. Roger is working on getting his 35 ready to put in the water. I will be working in the Norfolk and Newport News area on Monday and Tuesday so we may have a shake down cruise after work on Tuesday. We are running his boat in OM poker run and mine in the Richmond run. Then mine again in the Rappahannock run and then his again in the new Little Creek run. Four runs is about all we can handle. I know you are excited about getting your boat back. I hope it does everything you want it to do. I don't think you could get a better guy than Joey doing the motor work.

4 runs is plenty . I hope WE can do 4 also. Cold weather the next couple days. Good luck with the shake down. I might duplicate your new paint job . I like the yellow !! Tell my neighbor he still has 2 weeks to get the new hot rod !!!!!

Shake down did not happen. It was raining when I left Norfolk this afternoon. He will have to do it on his own next week. I would be flattered for you to use my colors on your boat. If I had it to do all over again, I would use a brighter yellow. However, I still like it the way it is.
