Has anyone had a positive experience going from the Hydro QIV's to the P5's? My current 29p QIV's are too small for the engine rebuild, have an opportunity to get 29 P5's.
Any top-end performance gains here, or just mid-range snap?

I boat came with 29 four blade QIV's and i put on 29 five blade P5X's, they work great, no vibration going on plane, mid range great, lost about 3 mph on the topend but only spinning at 5200 plus a bit instead of like 5400.
Give them a try, you will like it.

That is exactly what my wife has said a few times!
I spoke with Tom at Hydromotive and he said I was right on the border as to which prop would work. Brett at Bblades said that he would go with the 31 P5Xs if I was chosing between the two props. Both said we would know once we ran the slip numbers. My current slip is at 10.5%, down from 15.5% with the stock 32 B1s. They are currently being labbed (recreational). Only want to true out the props and pick up a little rpm.

I don't know about the x-dim on the lightnings (twin step). Since I have the Classic from 2001 (single step). My x-dim was at 16 3/4 which was pretty low. Since the new Executioneers are at 19, my -2" Imcos were right on.
