Our 700 38 runs 110 mph anyway you want to load it 5 people full tanks of fuel, flat water high humidity. Burn off some fuel and I have seen 112.5 on GPS. The factory top speed from Fountain is 114.3. What is just as impressive is the acceleration for 1400 hp. The boat is set up perfect.

Sweet :)

How do they handle snotty water vs the older 38's? Is there a noticable diff with the full stagger?

Do you know if they have ever done a 42 poker run with 1075s or the new 1200s? I am thinking that would be the poker run boat to have.

Know that Fountain delivered a 42 with 700s that made 115

We had an 06 38 with 600's and bravo's. It was staggered but not a full stagger. The boats feel about the same. Never ran the 06 in very rough water, so couldnt tell you about that part.
Never have been in any other 38 Fountains to compare. The biggest differnce in the 06 38 w/600's and the 07 38 w/700's is the 20 mph faster the 700 boat is on the top end.:p

The Outerlimits was mine, Dreamboater is my son. Outerlimits makes a great product, our 37 Quad step was a great rough water boat. It would run 110 mph with 1000 KE's that were staggered. After 110 you would need to use some tab to keep the boat from chine walking. Once you drop the tabs it will scrub off speed. Ted Link now owns it. Go to the Outerlimits forum and read the thead about different prop rotation. A lot of what we experienced with our Outerlimits seems to be the norm for that hull. Our Fountain is smaller not quite as comfortable in rough water. It has run as fast as 114 with 300 hp less per side. The boat is rock solid at those speeds. No tab needed, does not do anything unpredictable.

Isn't that Troy Link? I know Troy had owned the Jack Links 42 lightning with a pair of merc 700's that he recently traded in to Shogren. I heard stuff was breaking all the time on it........

Lets not start rumors. If you call replacing six sea water pumps becuase of sucking up seaweed or a freind driving in Guardian mode a MFG problem then we would understand. The boat is not and has not been traded in. Troy plans to use this summer or get another 47, misses the space of his old 47, that's why we are brokering for him.

No but you can get them in a 39. In the 38 Cig, you can only get 496,525, and 600's.

I have drove my 700 hp 38 at 114.8 on the Pamilico. Saw 113 with David Knight on board. 115.00 is very attainable.
