you may end up with a porpoising issue. you need to remember that by movig the drive further back your essentially changing the c.g to an extent.

With moving the drives back, you will also lower the drive deeper in the water. Boxes would look good, -2 shorties is where I would spend the money though. How is the boat coming together?

this is true but not with all boxes. the stelling s is available+2, neutral, or adjustable.

a combo of the would be most beneficial.

the merc i.t.s/ sportmaster combo comes both standard and -2.

Gets costly real quick with changing your steering and glassing the old holes up.
I would put money better spent toward a good set of labbed props.

like back 4 more said spend your money other places. I have boxes on my 35 and stock 35's run with me every day. mine are adjustable and are all the way up and still need -2 shorties. Another problem with the box is I can not trim the drive up with out putting the drives through the swim platform. merc has one good r&d I have learned to leave them alone.

Monstaa, I was talking about a neutral box, i would go as high as posible and start working from there. The boat that fender has is a 91 non step fever, it has a very conservative x to it. Nice work on that PR by the way.

When I spoke with Fountain, I think it was Boosinger told me that I would gain more with shorties and that it may be a waste of $ to put the boxes on my boat.

shorties

I have been wondering about boxes as well on my 32 fever. I have -2 Imco's on my 32 single step fever.....yea I'm sure it added some more speed (they were installed prior to me buying the boat)....but....the bow does not carry as high in the air as it should, (IMHO), there has been some weight removed from the back of the boat (deck lid, aluminum heads added, etc) and now there does not seem to be enough leverage to get the bow up. Adding weight to the rear did not help either. I am very curious to hear if anyone else is running shorties or boxes on a 32 fever.

Just my 2 cents worth!:D

I have a 12 meter and often wondered about boxes on it. I have number 3 drives. Does anyone have an opinion. Thanks

If you like I could bring one of my girlfriends to ride in the back...that should be enough leverage to get the bow up!
Let me know Russ......:party-smiley-004:
