I don't know enough about Viper engines to comment....but IMHO, peak Torque might be too high and it spikes between 3K and 4k...(probably where the turbo spools up) where you'lll be running the boat most of the time...that's the difference between a drag engine and a boat engine....

What RPM did the engine make peak HP?

I don't believe that engine wouldn't live in a boat for an extended period of time...Check out Illmor, they've done a lot of R&D work on marine engines... http://www.ilmor.com/ . But like others said..build it!

Are you going to be running Viper engines in the boat?

No-parts are way too expensive comparatively speaking. This shows though Nick is capable (Hennessey used the ident set up to beat a Bugutti Veran)and is a custom fabracated ENTRY LEVEL emmissions legal set up (Stage level 1 out of 3 .Stage 3 being some of the fastest TRUE street driven cars in the world. Please see You Tube Heffner .Stage 3 yealds a car that you can drive fromNJ-CALIF ,AC ECT and runs 7s at 175mph.)

Peak power of1020 is at 5700 .Thats achieved running rich, thru cats ,only 3 inch exhaust ,emissions legal ect with relatively small turbos. On a blower Chevy type set up Nick tells me that depending upon whose blower set up is used (Boostpower,Whipple )complete marine packages (Blower intercooler cam ect)to get a specific power level are now available.

There was a fountain 47 with no power or drives in Florida for sale cheap. I think it was in boats.com. That may be ideal if you are going to build motors. If it is still listed they may give it away just to get rid of it.

Sounds like a good powerplant!

I don't doubt that it could but I need to see it first, so run it in a boat for 200 hrs with 93 octane and lets see how it lasts!

Two and half months and I'm back in the water!! BUILD IT!!
