Hey guys anybody check the prices on the 08 35' models coming out this year???I was at the NYC boat show and for an 08 with 496's and X drives they were quoting me 240,000.00.Seems like this is way over the 07 and 06 prices and the gentleman said that Fountain raised the dealer price 26,000.00 for no reason and no upgrades to show for it.Seems like they are pricing their best selling Fountain out of range for buyers this year. What are your opinions??

Thanks Nordic95

If that price is correct they sure aren't going to sell many - maybe they want to phase it out since the new hulls are so much faster.

Sure hope so. I've seen prices on boats similar to my 35 Lightening and feel sick to my stomach!

A lot of good used Exec's out there that would seem very attractive at that price.

price is up.. Not for no reason..Cost of building the boats has rizen (the price of the ex has always been on the margen)
interior has been upgraded slightly also.mercs cost on rigging has also gone up.

Thanks Nordic95

I was told late last fall that the base price of the 42 EX was going up double this amount for the '08 model by a dealer I was talking to. A lot of the materials in a boat are petro-chemicaly based and have likely taken a big jump. As well as the cost of shipping etc. Hopefully Fountain will not drop the EX models, they are still great boats and a good value compared to other offerings out there.

On the plus side the increase in the cost of new does help hold the value up on the used market, especially the later model stuff.

I have been speaking with the Fountain dealers in Dallas and
Austin. The cost of all the Fountains are going up dramatically. I also have noticed that they are not selling many, for that matter the same 08s I inquired about in late
summer are still in their inventories today. I told the dealers
that your guys are slowly approaching Cigarette territory.
An 08 35L with stag 525 and loaded 300K?????. I will wait and if I buy I will wait for a used 1 year old. This increase in price should shore up the re-sale price on my 06 35L. Boating has
become extremely costly.

Or is it the dealers know that the used market is c**t and the are leaving themselves a lot of room for trades?
