looks like a big job, what can i expect and how dou i eliminate the third engine wiring.

I don't know about "eliminating" the wiring, but rigging the new dash shouldn't be all that hard. $400.00 for the new panel, add your existing gauges or buy new, new controls, etc.

I would leave the wiring on the third incase someone ever went back to tripps. I just redid my dash, once you get started it isn't that bad, VV

Color chart:
(BIA) Color Where Used

Black All Grounds

Black/Yellow Ignition kill circuit

Brown Alternator charge light
Pumps (bilge, live-well, etc.)
Reference Electrode - MerCathode

Brown/Orange Power feed to Auto-bilge switches

Orange Accessory common feed
Distribution Panel to Accessory switch
Anode Electrode - MerCathode

Orange Alternator Output to Ammeter

Lt. Blue/White Trim -"Up" Switch

Gray Tachometer Signal

Dark Gray Navigation Lights

Green/White Trim -"Down" Switch

Tan Water Temp. Sender to Gauge

Lt. Blue Oil Pressure Sender (10 Gauge)

Pink Fuel Gauge Sender to Gauge

Brown/White Trim Sender to Trim Gauge

Purple/White Trim -"Trailer" Switch

Red Unprotected Wires from Battery

Red/Purple Protected (Fused) Wires from Battery
Protected (+12V) to Trim Panel

Purple/Yellow Ballast Bypass

Purple (+12V) Ignition power feed from Switch
Instrument power feed

Yellow Bilge blowers
Alternator field to reg. field terminal
Starter Solenoid to Starter Motor
(MCM 470 and some Ford products)

Yellow/Red Starter Switch to Starter Solenoid
to Neutral Start switch

Tan/blue Warning system sense wire
(Audio warning)

Yellow/Black Neutral Safety switch
(transmission mounted)

White/Green Ignition module to Distributor
(Mercury Thunderbolt ignition)

White/Red Ignition module to Distributor
(Mercury Thunderbolt Ignition)

Dark Green Bonding Wires (earth ground)

Dark blue Cabin, courtesy, and instrument lights

There are plugs in the back, not that big of a deal.

is there a way to tell port,starbord
v v where do you boat out of

Velocity didn't have plugs but it does now, I live in ada, boat mostly texoma and you?
Pull the panel back, turn the key on and use a test light on the purple wire Ignition there is one purple wire on each gauge. Black is ground , dark blue is hot to light, the other color depending on the gauge goes to sensor.
