So far 115 is the best top speeds with 36 6 blades

Beak Boater 07-09-2008 04:53 PM

Nice looking boat. We have the same graphics on a 38/w700's and 6's. We are spinning 39 pitch 6 blade Herrings. Our rev-limiter is only 5300. With that boats rev-limiter at 5800, I guess you need a little less pitch.

Holy $hit

Try contacting Dustin @ Whipple, they can up the rev-limiter on the 525's ecm, maybe they can re-program the 700's to get you a few more rev's.

Dustin and I have talked, he can do alot of things to the 700ecm's. Mercury is very conservative on their set up. But they are also protecting something, I suspect it is the transmission. Im fine for now, dont want to find out what the weakest link really is.:rolleyes:

Rev limiter is 5600. These are not merc motors. Reggie and John took it out on a PR last week and Reggie decided to have his personal prop guy dial in John's boat. Reggie is very involved in this project.

Update- he is extremely happy with the boat and it has topped 120. Now, hes debating selling it.:cool: Hopefully he wont!

Coolerman 09-27-2008 06:42 PM

This is very interesting. Amazing speed, and a unique look. Liked the rear seat. It looks better than the original. What gear ratios are in those drives?? Do you have any more pictures of the boat while running?
