27 Fever vs. 27 Avanti
Hi, I am looking at a 27 Avanti with a 496HO. No forum here for Avanti but wanted to compare the two models. The first thing that jumps out at me is that the Avanti is only 7' wide. Any idea how they stack up in other areas? Who make these? Thanks.

Avanti used to be made by a guy named Dennis in Palmyra, NJ. Do you know where Kerbeck's Showroom is across the Tacony Palmyra Bridge? His place was a mile or two past there on the North side of the road. Avantis are ok boats, but they generally lack (ed) the level of refinement that could be and was achieved by Fountain. Resale is on Fountain's side, as you will see if you do a NADA value search. If you are buying an Avanti because you like it, just keep in mind that it will be harder to resell than a fountain. Another small thing to keep in mind, a 27' Avanti is a bigger boat than a 27' Fountain, so they aren't apples to apples. A 29' Fountain is more comparable, but very few 29' Fountains exist with a single.

The Avanti will have a 27 foot running surface. The Fountain 27 is really like a 24 footer when you take off the beak and swim platform. Avanti will be better in the rough. Fountain will be faster & have more bling. Like somebody else said, the Avanti won't hold value well and they are no longer made to the best of my knowledge.
