Default New to the Fountine world!

Hi all,
I could use some help with information on a 29 fever i just bought.
Some question on things with the boat it self and some on the engine. Should i ask the engine question in a differant form?

OK lets try this, i have a 29 fever and on the bottem of the notch in the hull i have a water pick up. The hose just comes up and out the side of the boat. Was this for a sea strainer that mine did not come with?

If I understand you correctly its just a round thru-hull fitting? If so it vents air trapped under the notch transom out, to help it get on plane easier.

The actual purpose it to introduce air into the notch area, thereby breaking the suction drag and allowing the hull to come on plane easier.
