Default Older 42 Question

How do the older conventional hull 42’s with big power, say 1000hp + & #6’s run? Good, bad, ugly?

Dont know from experience but i would think, it would be a awsome set up, i had a 90 42 with bravos and it was a sweet ride, it would handle most all waters.

Sounds like you are describing this boat. I knew it when it was new. It ran like a bat outta he11. Reggie used to come to Texas to run it in the Texoma poker run. I would love to have it and bring it back to Texas.

That's the one. I spoke to the owner and engine builder and they say the boats in great shape for the year. With that setup I'm sure it would be fast but how would it handle Lake Michigan on a nasty day? I have never had the pleasure of rideing on a 42 and you know what my Cig friends say.

First of all Roger, if you promised not to deck BZ again, he'd be glad to give you a ride!

Secondly, you are not allowed to buy that boat because I want it, and also because there's not room for any more red boats on V dock!

I was thinking about asking BZ for a ride last weekend as he was headed out but I didn't have time. That would of been a good day to test how well the 42's handle the rough stuff. It was bad out there.

I think there's always room for red. Jimmy said he would kill me if I got it. He's sort of closed minded about the whole deal.but I think he would get over it.

We will see.
