I tested my boat this summer with maximus 5 blades. Same diametre and pitch. What happened was that the boat got a slightly better bow lift, the Rpms went from 5400 to 5000 and the sound from the props changed a bit. The boat ran 3 mphs slower than with the 4 blades... That said, I think the slip became very low, but what does it mean when the boat performs better with the 4 blades....
What the boat needs is a longer an wider notch into the transom to make the boat get that "hole shot" and air out with less trim angle on the drive. The problm is also that the boat is a little scary to run at 80 mph with 5 on the trim indicator. (Yes, I have experienced a few "interesting" episdes...). I would think it would also make the boat faster, because of less lower unit drag. The length of the hull is still maintained wth the rest of the Vee and the tabs. Anyway, a really fun and well build bot that I will remember as a litlle "dream" for the rest of my life ;-) |
29 Prop Question
What is the stock prop for a 2004 29' 525 - 26P or 28P B1? Also is the general consensus that top speed should be between 78 - 81 mph? Thanks.
