The decision for Riverview not to have a Fountain booth at the Chicago show was not our decision. This was the second year in a row that we didn't bring Fountains. Space at the show is based on seniority and once we didn't participate in 2001 we lost our space for 2002. We were going to put some Fountains in with the Donzi's but McCormack wouldn't allow multiple lines being rented by one manufacturer. Its a bunch of politics and BS but we had to play by their rules. I have been approached by lots of Fountain owners and potential owners about the lack of Fountains at the show. I too wish we would have been able to bring a few.
As far as a place in Chain of Lakes......... .. He has looked at alot of different areas not just the chain so I don't think he knows yet whether thats something he would actually do or not. Plus Tim isn't an absentee owner. He is and always has been a very hands on type of guy. Very similar to Reggie's desire to put out the best product in its class. So opening another store would require alot of his time and right now he's not in a position to do that.

kmilaicki, I'm not sure I agree with that priority issue at McCormick. My company exhibits at least twice a year for industry trade shows at McCormick (printing/converting/packaging industries). Sure, the heavy hitters get the best booths, but the universal language there is money. There's always space available if you book early.
My belief is Riverview does not exhibit at the Chicago Boat Show because of poor sales at the shows. We almost never write an order at a trade show. It's the contacts and industry perception and other intangibles that matter. If we don't exhibit, we're not considered as "players" in the industry.
I heard alot of negative comments on this board relative to the show. Even though offshore is just one facet of the boating industry, please reconsider your plans for next year.
