Yes, we have done it and it can be done. The factory can also do it.

Take a look at the 2000 42 Lightning on our site, you will see it has tall windsheild. Look again in about 2 days and you will see the one we cut down to fit.

Isn't the top frame going to be too short if you cut the WS shorter? By cutting the WS down, it appears the top frame will have to move forward, thus making the frame come up short on the ends.

Thats what I was told by another Fountain Dealer and the factory. I was told to try and buy a top rail and windows, but the factory said that wouldn't work-nothing would line-up properly. They wouldn't sell only the top rail.

Don't forget that you also will need a new cockpit cover... And it is impossible to get that right if you order it from the factory as the buttons is very different on each one. This can be a nightmare if you want the boat to be perfect. I know all about this, believe me. For warm areas, I am sure the boat will be more fun with the low scren, but here people buy new 42s with even taller screen than the normal which is something in between the tall and low. My opinion is that the ngle is the most important, the sleeker, the better and more original Fountain-looking..........

Is the 29 the same as the 35? Anyone figure this out for sure yet?
