Dropped my boat off today for service and they were going strong. My buddy is trying to buy a used fish boat from them. The factory looked busy. We saw Reggie, Wyatt and Tony. Boats everywhere. Brian was water testing a new Baja and saw the new 40 Outlaw they were working on. It looked like business as usual to me.

Fountain acquires Baja,
Fountain going out of business,
Business as usual at Fountain,
Fountain acquires Hunter

And doing so all in under a yrs time.

Love the internet.

Is Fountain makeing a Baja 40 OL? On the Baja web site the 35 OL is the largest OL they have listed. That's great if they are and that means they are trying to improve on the Baja boats and keep them alive. I wish Fountain the best of luck with everything they are doing.

Wyatt was at the Indy boat show and if I heard him correctly they are taking the hull from a 42 Fountain and mating it with a Baja deck to come up with the new outlaw. He said the boat would be priced quite a bit lower than a 42 Fountain.

Thanks and sorry for hi-jacking this forum. Is there anymore info on this new Baja? Surprised I haven't seen this on the Baja forum unless I missed it. Do you know then will it have steps since using the 42 Fountain hull?

I seen this Baja at the factory last week. It has steps and a beak.

Fountain hull, fountain quality, with a Baja deck and the Baja name for a lot less than a 42' Fountain? Then why buy a Fountain???

Wyatt said the beak would be coming off and that is why a 42 Fountain hull would become a 40 Baja after the Baja deck was attached

Why would it be a lot cheaper - I dont really know. I wasn't much interested in a Baja so the conversation went in another direction.
