Is there a good spring lift / gas spring for holding up the hatch to get into the cabin ?
I replace them, and only get a year m/l out of them. I thought guys on this forum might know.
Thanks in advance.

OK, if you are only getting a year out of them, you are doing something wrong? Are you riding around with the hatch open?? Do you have kids playing with it? Do you have speakers on the top of the hatch? the shock absorbers should be lasting at least 3-4 years and thats with allot of opening and closing. The shock is like any other part, it is designed to work for X number of cycles, with X numer of weight, some how yours is going through more.

The most common mistake we see is boating (like running on plane) with it open, this will shorten the life of the shock, every time you hit a wave its like you opened and closed it thus a cycle.

Hope this helps

Actually, we don't use the boat very much, 10 hrs. a year, I think it's closed too much, just wears out that way... ? Heck I don't know, but thanks for all the tips. I'll get one order.

And the boat sits on a covered lift all year long, and it gets cold in MO. too.
I think it just doesn't get used enough...?
