Default Question

This is my 3rd Beak, and I have the same problem with all of them, and can't seem to fix it.
Is there a good spring lift / gas spring for holding up the hatch to get into the cabin ?
I replace them, and only get a year m/l out of them. I thought guys on this forum might know.
Thanks in advance.
~~ Steve

I replaced my original with the highest rated one I could find. 4 yrs and no problem. I 'think' it is 60#

i just ordered the 80# one for my boat. not taking any chances, i would rather have to worry about strapping it shut than propping it back up

You can take yours into a Westmarine and tell them you want the same size but 40LBs. They ordered me one and it's been nice ever since.

For whatever reason, the ones around here don't stock the higher psi rams. Also, the stainless ones are even nicer than the black..

My local West Marine store was out of the size I needed so I ordered a 40# from their website and it was delivered in about 3 days.

Like everyone else said, go to a higher pressure. Takes a little more effort to close the door but it holds up much better.
