Default Value of 1999 42 Lightning Staggered

Hi, I am looking for help on selling a 1999 42 with twin 500's. I am inheriting the boat due to a debt owed to me by the original owner. Fresh water boat always, 1 owner, full canvas, shark graphics, vacuflush, etc. What should I list this for so it sells in a reasonable amount of time? I have been on the boat doing about 85 mph, and it is very clean and well maintained. Thanks for any help.

Really depends on the boat. How may hours on the boat/engines? Have the engines been freshened? Outdrives/Props? Does it come with a trailer? There is an 02 42 with staggered blown 575s for 100k in the classified section (if it hasn't sold). The owner has been trying to move it since November of 07. That will give you an idea of the market right now.

many of those boat in the 38-42 range, 98 to 2001, are listed at or below the 100 k mark... and they are mostly still for sale. I'm looking at those and my guess would be 85 for a real good price up to 95 max, above that it just won't sell IMO.

I have a good friend in the market for a boat just like that. Email pictures to [email protected] and contact info and I'll have him call you.

I don't think it will sell at 85 in this market. It is worth more, but it just isn't going to sell.

I have a guy looking for one also though, so send me some pics.

Thanks for all the replys, the boat was just signed over ryesterday, so I do not have pictures at this time, nor do I know the hours. It was a Winnipesaukke (sp?) lake boat in NH, so I am assuming the hours are low as there is only a 3 or so month boating season.

If you are looking to trade for a couple of smaller items that are easier to sell ( Dodge Viper, 27' Fountain) Send me some pics [email protected]
