GD = General Discussion, and the 525 3.3 whipple is a great way to go, same thing I am doing over the winter to mine with upgrading the motors to 509's. Good luck with your project.

GD= General Discussion, I think a guy had a 38 Hustler whippeled 525efi's got 780 on dyno, but I wouldn't push them that far.:evilb: |
Drives?
You need to consider your drives as well. More HP is a great thing as long as it doesn't destroy other parts.
Alot of guys make a living rebuilding blown drives. Same guys that gave you more power to start with. |
Sell the boat and get one with 700's and #6's

It really depends on the boats length and weight - not just the amount of HP. You can probably get away with doing 750 HP+ in a 35 Fountain or smaller with twins, but try that on a 38 Top Gun and you'll be poping drives left and right.

whipple it!

laszloO1 , when you did your motors who flashed the computer, Set the I.A.C. and T.P.S sensor?? or did you have a scan tool??
|
well keep in mind you don't need to set boost to 700+ HP onw could choose to set 3lbs probably around 640hp, and the drives should live, maybe a little longer:ernaehrung004::cool-smiley-026:

the boat is a 42 poker run im looking at with 525efi's with bravo xr's, does anyone know what hp rated the drive's are and if they will live max'd out?:asskiss::hitfan:

Most likely bump to sportmasters to handle the new power.

XR comes standard with a 600sci, so you should be fine up to around 600-650hp:ernaehrung004:

Whippled 525's work awsome! HTG Marine on Grand Island,NY can install and give you a turn key package...tuned , propped and dialed in if that is what your looking for. It takes 1 week...don't miss a weekend! Check it out at www.htgracing.com or email at [email protected] We have 39 Velocity ,40 Baja and 32 Sunsation with Whippled 525's....no problems. Can also make you a nice deal on kits if your installing yourself.

Do a search on 42PR drive issues.
They have a rep for being hard on drives with stock 525's, I think your asking for trouble putting more power to them. Maybe look into upgrading to Teague Platinums or the high end Imco, if you want to spend the $ , re-rig with #6's. |
