what is the best option for super charging 525s and make them live with the most horse power?

I am guessing 525efi Merc's, my 2 cents would be Whipple, do a post in GD many hve done them with very happy results.

GD = General Discussion, and the 525 3.3 whipple is a great way to go, same thing I am doing over the winter to mine with upgrading the motors to 509's. Good luck with your project.

GD= General Discussion, I think a guy had a 38 Hustler whippeled 525efi's got 780 on dyno, but I wouldn't push them that far.

You need to consider your drives as well. More HP is a great thing as long as it doesn't destroy other parts.

Alot of guys make a living rebuilding blown drives. Same guys that gave you more power to start with.

Agree.....that amount of HP will kill your drives, sooner or later, and as we all know that's big $$$$$.

It really depends on the boats length and weight - not just the amount of HP. You can probably get away with doing 750 HP+ in a 35 Fountain or smaller with twins, but try that on a 38 Top Gun and you'll be poping drives left and right.
