Have owned both, and both are great boats. Just depends on where you do most of you boating. A 35 is great on most water, and runs in the high 80's with mild power. The newer 35's with staggered 525's run right at 100 mph. With a 38 you are gaining length with helps the rough water ride, the cabin is a bit biger not much, and the cockpit is about the same size as the 35 staggered boats. Trailering is a little different, with the boat being longer and heavier.

I have a 35 and a good friend had a 38, so I have been in both. The 35 doesn't have the ride, but acts more like a sports car in its handling characteristics. Just depends on where you boat and what's important.

Pros and cons for each. The 35 is much faster, more nimble and easier to tow, but you sacrafice freeboard, cockpit, cabin and rough water handling.

Although they are three feet different, the 38 is a much bigger boat. When you see both of them next to each other out of the water, it will look like you can set the 35 inside the 38 and walk around.

You need to drive the 35 in confused water / muliple boat wakes, where the 38 goes wherever you point it. I would highly recommend the 42 if you are looking used. You can pretty much buy a 42 for the same price as a 32, 35 or 38. The only downside is that you will need a big truck to haul it legally, where you can move the others with a 3/4 ton without a problem.

Really?........their are alot of 35's around here that would disagree with that statement. I know you meant with the same power.
