1998 fever 32 NEW MOTORS!

I just pulled my stock power out ( 502's) was running 26 hydromotives , and getting around 5000 rpms , I just purchased a set of labbed 30's , WIll these be ok ? good? bad? Also considering picking up a set of 28's just in case.
Oh by the way i am installing a set of 500 efi's . Anyone else have similar set up?

Wildman_grafix 12-20-2009 01:14 PM

I have a 2000 with 500 efi's.
15.5 x 27 Hydro's. Stock not labbed.

heavy load and hot flat water 5000 r.p.m.
3/4 tank of fuel and cool (mid to high 50's day I took it out), Me and the wife 5400 rpm.

Mid hto high 50's ? is that temp or MPH ? NoTGPS , but with 3/4 tank , ice chests , kids and wife , i could make my stock speedo read 78 , but figured it was more like 72 .....

NOw that i read your post again its temp.
So maybe i need to consider the 28's ,prop wise then.... 30's may be a little much..

I have heard that those boats would reach into the mid 80's with 500HP a side.

I was really hoping for 84 to 86 range on GPS , im crossing my fingers..... My boat had a great hole shot with stock power and the 26 props , i do not want to give that up .....

Put in the new engines. Put the old props on,test them, borrow a set of 28's, test them, Call BBlades. Then you won't have to worry about anything. He will send you the perfect set of props.

I know dozens of guys who have done this and I have done it on 2 of my own boats. Works every time.

Good luck.

The lab 30's might be real close. RPM wise the 27 Hydros stock would be about the same as 28 Bravos stock, which should be about the same as the lab 30's. On my 99 35 Lightning with 500's I ran 26 Hydros stock and 28 lab Bravos, both sets turned right at 5400. Speed wise both sets were the same.

You guys invest way to much time and thought into this stuff. It's just to easy to ask someone who can get it right the first time, without much effort.

Good luck to you guys.

your right . I have already bought the 30's , and am going to run them , i feel like if they dont work ill get my money back out of them. Was just looking from similar experiences.
