I don't always agree with the way Reggie promoted his boats. Some of the video's while entertaining, were over the top. A lot of his claims kept Fountain on the front page of forums, and provided pages of heated discussion, exactly what he wanted. Brand recognition and pages of free publicity.

Imitation, the sincerest form of flattery.
The only difference is Fountain never used the competitors names in his adds. Hustler has taken shots at Cigarette, Statement, now Fountain. You got to ask yourself, if the only way to make your product equal to your competitors is to belittle them in print, maybe you need a better product.

I just got my renewal for power boat. After all the Money Reggie has spent with that Company (Rag!) They must be reaching for advertisers to print trash talk 
, They could on wish They Got some Fountain Tech to put in there boats... I wont be renewing my subscription With PBM ..Good Job PBM YOU SOLD A AD. AND LOST A CUSTOMER! There is a lot more Fountain Owners than Hustler.. Hope the ad was worth it!!!!

What has Hustler done that sticks out? I have never been on one. How do they ride? How fast are they with comparable power?
Do they win races? I'm not totally sure.
I do know that negative selling never sells. Never bash - just outperform in some way even if its a small difference.
Regardless of Hustler's story, they "wanted" to buy the company and were not able to complete the transaction. The only thing I can think of that's worse than posting your winning bid everywhere is to actually loose in the end.
Of all the crazy hype and talk from Reggie, I have NEVER heard of an instance where he told a guy that he "wasted his money by buying something else". It's just not a good foot to start out on....
Hustler will regret that ad but I have nothing against them or the boat.
PS To all you winter locked folks on this board, San Diego Bay was real nice today. 74 degrees with little to no wind. Burned a full tank and went back for more!!!!
