Our 2000 29 with 500EFI had X dimension of 17.5" and came with a 24P Hydro Q-IV prop. It was a little sluggish to get on plane, but it didn't blow out the prop trying to get on plane. It would sometimes blow out in corners, though, and I don't drive agressively and no high speed turns. Our 2002 29 (full frame windshield style) with 575 SCI had X dimension of 19.5" and came with a 30P Bravo One prop. That prop bit well and never blew out, even in turns. I tried a couple of Hydro Q-IV props on the 575 boat but could never get up on plane - it would just blow out the prop. Our 2006 29 with 525 EFI has X dimension of 19" and came with a 28P Bravo One prop. Not even going to bother trying a Hydro Q-IV, it runs great with the prop that is on it. I think switching to Bravo One props allowed Fountain to raise the X a little, due to the different prop design.
We had a 2001 27 Fever w 500efi came with 17.5 X dim 25 RH Hydro, ran solid 74gps 5350 rpms, however the prop would blow out on slower turns. Very slow to plane

You will be glad you bought a Fountain and that Tony is your salesman. He is great to work with! I was with him and his family one Sunday on the beach and he stayed on the phone most of the time with Customers. His wife even said that he is always trying to help his customers. Nothing like a new Fountain! Their customer service ROCKS too.

Make sure you give her a lot of love, and she will take you everywhere in a safe high quality ride that will make all the other boaters jelous. It is good to know that Fountain still make it. There are no boats that I know of that combine all those great qualities into a compact "affordable" package.
Good Luck. Post pictures very soon...
