Have you checked the tension adjuster on the throttles yet? I had one that worked a little stiff when I first got this one, backed it off and a little lube, been fine since.

We broke a shift cable on an 07 boat last year, while backing into a slip at a poker run. The length is stamped on the outside near the end of the cable. It really wasnt that big a job in our case. Took maybe an hour.

One other thing to check is the routing of the cable to make sure there are not any tight bends. I did play with that a little on mine where they ran around the stbd side in the bilge and across the transom to the engines. Might check for the same under the dash.
