I just bought a '94 27 Fever with a single 502. The trim indicator isn't working and I would like to do some simple diagnostics (if thats possible) to see if it is a simple fix before taking it to a dealer to fix. Everything seems to be in order under the dash so I took the guts out of the cylinder attached to the outdrive. I couldn't see anything out of order there so can I assume it is a broken cable? I did notice some small holes in the black cups at each end of the "actuator" and I thinking these are drain holes. Are they drain holes? Or are they for pins to hold the mechanism stationary? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks blownincome...thats what I was thinking, but was hoping for something simpler
. So...it'll probably be obvious once I tear into it, but I guess I'll use something like carter pins in the black plastic thing in place before taking the cable of that end when I replace the cable...right?
I apprieciate your help!

OK...I got the new cable ran and hooked-up...wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be thanks to my duck tape. But when the trim is all in the indicator is still about a half inch from the top. Any ideas on how to adjust the cable so my indicator will be all the way up when the unit is all the way in?
