WHOA, don't open that can of worms. I like Fountain but I can tell you, mistakes are made, and hulls do need fixing on rare occasions.

"rare occasions" is exactly right. Meaning most people will never have to deal with that

Agreed however for that one in hundred, it is very nice to have the hull warranty. BTW, I was one of the 1/100 with a new 2001 Fever, you remember those air vents on the sides or better when their is a air void in the gel, no biggies but nice to have that warranty.

Some of you guys get it, and some of you Lemmings are ready to follow Reggie off a bridge.
Stress cracks, miswired battery switches, defective gel coating, leaky fresh water plumbing, etc, only served to get my attention that the quality wasn't as promised.

The bottom line is that warranty issues are a huge expense for Fountain, or they wouldn't have excluded it from their restructuring... There are a lot of Fountains that aren't living up to the warranty expectations. Obviously it was a big enough number that Fountain felt he had to stick it to the dealers and owners, vs. stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility.
We pay a premium price for a premium product that used to be backed up by a transferable warranty... that's gone.
This is how a company loses its edge, and starts to devalue.

PS: dollabill; its my sixth performance boat, third Fountain.
...am I qualified in your mind to have an opinion yet?

if it's your 3rd Fountain you should know what is right and what is wrong with them.

I have to agree, I understand why Fountain has done what it has done, they are in SURVIVE mode, hey all boats are going to have some problems, thats why their are warranties. But to just skip out is pretty chitty, I mean these are not $4,999 Kia. I have a very successful self friend always says "you can sheer a sheep every year but slaughter it only once" I am willing to bet all the customers who got dumped will not be return buyers.

Did DONZI do the same thing? They are more or less owned by the same company now right?
