well what the he*# should i be running a left hand prop ? why is a lefty faster ? if i dont have a list is it worth going to a lefty ? i have always thought my boat was kinda slow for what i think it should be but i am pretty green when it comes to how things work with powerboats/fountains.

It's kinda general knowledge through feedback that the NON-step single engine fountains did better with left hand props. Lots of them came that way from Fountain.

Still yet, every boat is different in that no two are exactly the same so you may benefit by experimenting.

thunderstruck does yours have a step? mine IS A 94 and it has a step. its left hand rot. also but its a IMCO had a 30p brovo labed but took to long to get on plane running a 26 brovo now and much easier to play with

the way reggie explaned it to me was that a left hand prop counters the engine rotation and allows the bow of the boat to be lifed and carried easyerwhich translates to better performance.

My '94 fever is non-step hull...this is my 1st summer with her so I'm doing what upgrades can be done on the fly...like stereo, pwr steering pump, ingnition...stuff the previous owner let go...

okay bcfountain thank you a ton for what you just said , that makes sense to me and how that would help the boat . i am going to try a lefty now just to see what happens you da man . i have asked that question alot about if i should be running a lefty or not and i have always got b.s. answers .

I tried a LH on my boat this weekend.

Could not believe the difference and was not expecting it to be that significant.

It was terrible. Could not wait to get out of that boat. Nasty, God-awlful ride.

Entire characteristic set changed for the worse.

One thing I noticed when we went for a ride on your beautiful boat is that you had to lower the port tab a bit while accelerating and at mid range, to keep her level.
With mine, which has a l/h prop (and always had, since the performance report), I don't need that.
Therefore, I assumed that the l/h was more appropriate for the F27 hull.
Now you make me wonder if it's worth trying a r/h prop also on mine!
Or do you think it can be so different from one hull to another?
There aren't many years between our boats, mine is a 07 model and yours a 05 as I recall?
