I just bought a 2000 35 lightning twin step with 500EFI's. Right now the props are turning in, but the boat seems to be really sensitive where weight is. I leans alot and I have to use the tabs alot to level it out. If i turn the props out will this make it more stable. Will I lose speed if they are turning out? What should it run for speed. Ive had it up to 85 on gps but it got kind of rough so i got out of it. It has 30p bravo ones on it. How do they like to be trimmed? This is my first fountain and the only other step bottom boats Ive driven are eliminators. Any advice would be great, thanks.

Do you have the test sheet on your boat from Fountain? Every boat from the factory is water tested. The test sheet will give you speed numbers and drive and trim settings for the best speed they could get on the boat that particular day. If you don't have it call or shoot Fountain an email and the sales staff will get it for you. They were very helpful with me.
I am still learning on mine so I can't help you with the prop rotation or weight distribution. I have not had that issue with mine.

My 2000 35 has 500HP's and runs about 86-87 with 30 lab props.. Drive turning in or out doesn't make much difference.. Turning out is more stable but in might be a touch quicker.. Drives at 5 at top speed tabs flat at 2.5 , enjoy your 35

Far as I know pretty much all every Fountain leaves the factory turning "in". Works well on these boats, little faster, you do give up a little when it comes to docking manners but the boat will run and handle better turning in. If "out" was better you can bet that Fountain would send them out the door that way. Spin them in and just learn to deal with the docking. You, and the boat, will be much happier in the long run.
Tabs at WOT should be neutral, or very close, drives likely around 5 to 5.5, the twin steps like to run flat. It's the way they are designed to run, just let the hull run as it was intended to and you will love the boat.

Turn those props in. I played a little with my setup, but found the fastest and best attitude was with them in. Docking isn't too good, but you get used to it. I hardly ever use tabs, unless I have a few people on board.
