99 42 Lightning triple 525
 

Any opinions on a triple 525SC 42 Lightning ? How they run ? Speed ? etc.

IMO, wouldn't that be a heavy boat in the rear end. Doesn't seem like it would be very balanced.

I wondered that , however I felt that with all the testing Fountain has done they must have felt characteristics were good .
Today's engine technology is much better and I do feel twin staggards are the way to go however this fresh water boat was so clean and so cheap I couldn't resist . I could part it out and almost recover the purchase price .
I don't think the resale on trips is very good based on what I payed for it .

Should run lower 90's...its a monster in the rough.

I didn't realize they still did triple's in 99.

I just sold a 1993 with triple 525sc, no steps. Fountain's reports showed 86. I just ran it at the shoot out at 75 radar, 78 on gps.

wrong....they are wave crushers....if it wasn't such a b!tch to work on I would stilll have mine:)

I agree. I boat way too much to have triple 525sc in a boat. I blew thru some serious fuel this year.

Picked the boat up yesterday and just want to do fluids , blower oil and a detailed inspection . I'll hopefully splash it Sunday , the hurricane is supposed to be in our area Fri through Saturday .
