what do you guys think about this? 42
|
Well, I am a new face around here as well, but have been in the market for a month now. Been interested and researched them for years. Just never could afford it, till now. Seen every boat available, this one included. The only thing that concerns me is the whipple chargers on 502's. Were the chargers added aftermarket or from factory? How many hours? If aftermarket, you gotta wonder if the internals of the engine were upgraded at the same time. Too big for my needs! Good price though.

not sure.. the guy lives less then 30 minutes from me, so hopefully i can check it out this weekend! but i was just curious on what others thought of this set up ?

I would not buy a side by side 42. No resale and way slower.

While it looks clean in my opinion the price is high for todays market. It shouldn't be but it is was it is. As some one else said that would be a tough boat to sell if you decide to get something else within a year or two.

You can get a side by side with the bigger cockpit layout...but this isnt one of them. That boat has the big engine box. You could convert it to a stagger but thats going to cost a lot. If you like the big cockpit layout there are some side-by-side boats with the small engine box. The Whippled 502's look like they could have reliability issues. If you water test it make sure the gauges are happy at all different sustained speeds. |
could this be a triple that was converted to a twin? I just picked '98 with side by side & love the huge cockpit, why would they make a side by side w/o the extended cockpit?
