Default Old School 38 Project done

Figured I finally upgraded my membership, and now i can post photos.

Story on this boat was it was from ohio. It was repoed a few years back, went to one of the repo dealers in michigan. My friend Brian bought it in 2007, as it sat, complete minus motors, trannys, mounts, etc. SSM IV Drives and all other hardware was still there and sitting on the myco trailer. Brian had hopes of saving enough coin to build some sweet motors for it. Well, last october of 2009, Brian was killed in a accident. I am good friends with his dad, and ended up buying the boat may of 2010.

Got to working on getting it water ready right away. had my little 454 blower motors and huber trannies waiting to go in.

First thing was to degrease and paint the bilge

Finally it was time to drop it in the water and see if it floats! Let alone run. This was the first day out.

Got the boat running end of june this summer. And totally had a blast all summer with it. No problems and everything ran great. Best i have seen is about 80mph on gps, with pretty much the wrong set of props. (3 blades and lots of slip %)

Story is the boat was sent back to Fountain, and converted from TRS to ssm IV's, repainted, fairing added, bottom blueprinted. Probably about 10 years ago or so.

Still have lots i wanna update, like the dash, steering wheel, and some other odds and ends this winter.

A few buddies of mine knew that i had bought the boat in may, and pretty much figured i wouldnt be on the water for 2010, let alone be boating side by side with them all summer. My friend Brian and i used to talk shop alot, only thing i wished for was he was there to help me get it going. Im sure he woulda loved to hear and see it run.
