Not to steal the thread but why did you go from a cat back to a V-hull.

What would TX2 think?:lolhit:

Just needed more room, we have 2 little ones now, & we like to overnight once & a while, The Cat was awesome when it was just me & the wifey... most of our boating is rafting up with friends for the day, & we really love to room the 42 side by side has, it's like a dance floor in the cockpit

yep, that's what I did with my '99 Single step 35, my advice to you, is be happy with 82 & call it a day, the 2-3 MPH you get is not worth the $$. I spent a wack of dough to get my 35 to run a real 85. just to sell it & get a 100mph cat. now that thats out of my system, I'm back in the 80's club, it's not so bad:drink:

Not bad advice either. I am beginning to suspect that these performance boats aren't good investments :evilb:

I just bought my first 35 lightning. Its a 96 single step w/genVI 525's. I've been playing with the tabs, and trim, and the best ive seen out of it was 82. I know i can call Fountain, but before i go that route i wanted to see what all of you guys thought. Keep in mind i am used to a boat walking a little, but im not sure this boat will perform its best loose? Thanks in advance. Jason

Also i should add that im turning 29p Hydromotives

I have a 1997 model year of the exact same boat. Your speeds are right in line with what I have experienced. Best i saw was 83 in one direction and 81 returning.

If only we could "short" them.
