Default New Fountain owner, what speeds should I expect?

Just traded my cat for a 1990 29ft fountain with twin 454 mags with bravo 1 drives and 25p 3 blade props. Just curious of what other guys are seeing? I'm thinking of pulling the mags and going a little bigger and better looking motors.(painted, etc) Heres a few pics!

Looks nice, I like the all white look! As for the speed, I would guess 75ish. If you contact the factory they can send you a copy of the original performance report. This will tell you what the tabs and drives were set at and what prop was used to get the best performance out of the boat.

I just sold the exact same set up in May, just different colors.
76 mph all day long!
Its hard to find a more dependable set up, those Mags will run forever!

the mags were just redone in april of 09, guy says they only have around 12 hrs of run time. If it runs 75ish thats good enough for me, I just traded my cat that had a brand new $20k Bullet engine with all billet accessories etc, then go to a stock 454 mag they just dont look the same. LOL

Why did you sell the thunder cat? Was that the one you were redoing and had a thread in the paint section?

How did it end up looking.

thanks, I'm pretty excited. I think the wife will enjoy this more than our cat, it was a pretty tight and small interior setup, and wasnt very comfortable. Plus we have a 5 month old now so next summer with the fountain will be a lot more accommodating.

any problems or issues I need to look out for with this boat?

If you are looking for some MPH raise the drives up some. On 90 Models they were deep. Check the drive height. Of course going up requires some bigger props. My 95 with 502s putting out 600 HP runs low to mid 90's. Drives are 1 Inch up from stock and 90's were even lower than 95's. Plus my boat has the single step. You might get 80-82 by raising up some and props.
