Default 35 Question

Been looking at a few 35' Fevers/Lightnings (97-99) and I have noticed some of them have the Split type (two piece) sundeck (opens port/starboard) and others that have the conventional raising one piece deck. Is one type better than the other, is one available only on the Fever or Lightning?.

Also what speeds are you guys seeing with 502's in the Classic style step hull?

Thanks

HP 500, the one piece you are talking about is on the 35 lightning twin step, and the 2 piece that opens down the middle is on the 35 classic. They are both unique to that model of boat and are not interchangeable. The one piece gives you better access to the motors because the seat back raises with the motor cover. The 35 classic has plenty of room in the engine compartment, you just have to climb over the back seat. Hope this helps.

I have a friend who has a 2001 classic with 502's spinning 28 bravo ones and runs around 76 to 77 on the GPS

I know you might be looking for a newer boat, but I found this one the other day and if I hadn't orderd my Pantera I would already own it. You could have the 502's built out to 502/500's for a few $$ and still come in way under the later models prices.

Very nice boat.
