I can believe late 80's, but early 90's? Have they done mroe than one? A 90 mph fishing boat would be bad azz! I have never been on one and really have no idea how fast it is. Doesn't the quad 300 opti still hold the "official record" at 87mph?

Anyon who know how many horses a 300XS pumps out at the propshaft? And the Verado 300 vs. the 300 XS?

I know a guy in Sweden who are rigging a lot of RIBs and he say that the 350 Verado is SO MUCH more powerful than the 300 Verado. He said Merc Racing meant is was around 370 hps at the propshaft....?!?!?! Has a 38 with 4x350s been made to date? Tat would for sure be fast! And can carry some pounds of fish to it also. Or people in high speed. Would be cool to see!

Its Homesite at the hull truth that have a Fountain 38 with 350 quads. He have experienced problems with blow out around 83 mph due to lowerunits. However, he added nose cones and low water picups from Bobs in Jan. Then he experienced low water pressure on the two center engines. He is working on it now. Triple 350 sci runs 80 mph according to Merc Racing test data.

Its lots of power in the 350 sci. It breaks verado lower units. You have some out there running reworked sportmaster lower units. However, the engine twist them too. Thats the reason for the HD lower unit. Hopefully the new Poseidon gearcase is faster than the 2nd edition.
