I'm moving slow on it, been busy with work and generating cash from selling off the extra parts.

Trying to Generate cash is always fun :daz:

It's my own personal boat so I'm not in any rush. If I get it done by December I'll be happy with the progress.

Well that deadlines not going to get made. I did start tearing apart the dash. Hope to send it in for fiberglass work very soon.

Also had the -2 lowers painted.

Are you still going to run the bravo setup with boxes ?

Yes, I'm dumb I didn't learn anything from watching the guys on TRL tear up parts. I want to do it myself. :daz:I looked at a 2000 staggered #6 42 a few months ago and probably should of just bought it since it was such a deal. If my project was done I think I may of. I'm pulling the MSD knock boxes, full set of gauges, ordering new throttles/shifters and putting a GPS speedo in.

I also got the Whipples bought a few months ago so it's going to be EFI too.

575cat 09-29-2013 01:04 PM

Good to see some progress .

More tearing apart

Looking forward to following this build!

Anyone have work done at Elite Power Boats? They are $2,000 lower to do the transom work than RF3 and about 700 miles closer. I'm trying to justify the extra cost of having RF do it, other than resale, I'm coming up short.

jeff32 11-17-2013 03:36 PM

there might just be a difference in price because it is a dirty job to do! unless there is a difference in the way to get the job done but I doubt... it's pretty much always the same job cost whatever wich resin and cloth you are using... IMO at least!

Kampy 04-02-2014 12:35 PM

Any update on this build? Looks like it has great potential.

Slowly moving forward, fiberglass took a bit longer than we had hoped and it's into season now. I've been too busy to do much, bilige should be done soon and we can start rigging the boat.

I have most the parts cleaned, re-powered coated, new stuff bought and ready to go.

Only issue so far has been I'm going to a 5 liter Whipple system and we found my compression ratio to high for what I want to do. I'm now working with Bob Madara for cam shafts, lifters and pistons.

Pokher Ace 04-03-2014 11:13 AM

Lookin good! I guess your lined out on stringer placement, if you dont mind share what you have and also what you set the x dimension at.

575cat 04-03-2014 12:52 PM

Looks like your keeping the aux tank,s ?

Flyin-Bryan 04-03-2014 07:14 PM

I ended up having to pay an engineer $600.00 for the drawings.

For now, if they come out I want to remove the fills, etc as fast as it's going to rip up fuel I may need them.

Bawana 04-04-2014 01:24 AM

Nice job so far.. From the looks of your pics, it appears you plugged the drive & exhaust holes. Wouldn't it been easier to just replace the transom? When do you plan on splashing her?

It would of been easier to make it a side by side boat or leave it alone! The entire transom is new I wish it would of been rotten at least! ;)

Crude Intentions 04-04-2014 10:00 AM

Lookin good Eddie!!

Kampy 05-08-2014 10:36 AM

Looks like you will be keeping the same paint. Looks good!!! Can't wait to see more pics.

Not much, I started on the dash and that's about it. It's still extremely busy at work and we haven't had time to work on personal stuff. Hot enough end of the day that I don't want to mess with it. Still keep flirting with the idea of putting 500's or 525's in it and keep it stock for resale. I'm all over the place on what I want out of the finished product. Until I buy/build drives I can go either way for now.

Most the parts are cleaned and ready to go.

Motors still need to come apart and get new pistons if I go 5.0 Whipple route.

Kampy 09-15-2014 11:25 AM

Any Updates? I love this build. Thanks.

-2 lowers are dropped off and getting built.

Engine hatches in the shop getting blower cut outs filled in.

I sold the Whipples and plan on putting reasonable power in the boat now. Some thing along the lines of 500 EFI's. I'd like to stay EFI for resale, but I have a pair of 540's that could make 625hp with carbs and could finish the project with them. Struggling with which way to go for power right now.

Just pulled the boat out of storage again today, test fitting the dash today. Had all three panels made and put them in.

TooLateVTEC 09-22-2014 07:29 PM

The new dash and panels looks freakin sweet, love the blue carbon fiber

Cole2534 09-22-2014 07:50 PM

Who did the panels? They look great.

Also, who is building your new engines?

Innotech builds the blank dash panels in STL. Assembled at our shop.

If I go with the carb motors we will build them in house.

Washed the old girl up this weekend too. The X is raised and set up for boxes and -2 lowers. RF3 and an engineer at Fountain helped out in the design.

Crude Intentions 09-26-2014 02:20 AM

Looks damn good Ed. Now get those motors done and in.

Meshikinquah 09-26-2014 09:29 PM

Great looking dash and boat.
Those 540's would be great in that 42 as long as you go with a stronger drive than an bravo.

Kampy 12-03-2014 12:55 PM

Anything new Eddie?

Picked up 500 EFI intakes last week and all internal engine parts came in yesterday -went with 525 EFI cams. Heads are at machine shop getting looked over. I'm going to finish motors and then start putting it back together soon. It won't be long and it should be on the water if things keep moving like they are.

Kampy 01-26-2015 11:40 AM

Eddie, how is the build coming??

Have it sold possibly, waiting on pay off and change orders before we go any farther. It's at the point it needs bolted together.

Crude Intentions 01-27-2015 08:43 AM

Damn Eddie. Selling the 42? Was hoping to see it completed.

It's getting completed one way or the other soon. Give me a few weeks and we should know what direction it's headed.

Kampy 03-26-2015 12:29 PM

Eddie, did you make any decisions?

New owner is doing all new interior, paint and adding a ton of custom touches. We started test fitting motors last week. He also ordered the CP kits for the motors. It's going to be amazing when done. He's doing paint and a few things so we can show it off some at the street party this week. Then back to finishing up engine compartment and interior.
